Hertfordshire House Extension

This project is located in an attractive commuter city just north of london and involved an extension across the full width of the house to create a dynamic open plan living/kitchen/dining space. Trombe were engaged to design and install a large expanse of glazing including roof glazing and doors and windows to the garden elevation.

We created a grid-based design incorporating an exposed steel frame, supporting glass roof panels, and vertical glazing in the form of heritage style steel sliding door and window frames.

Our client’s objective was liveability, and to avoid glare a timber brise soleil was integrated with the roof structure which creates shade, throwing restful shadows throughout the room.

The project also includes an external veranda of complimentary design and a kitchen window seat featuring triple sliding glazed panels opening onto the garden.
