Holloway House
Trombe were introduced to design and install the specialist glazing aspects of the project.
An existing North London house was being refurbished and extended to introduce an extensive excavated basement level.
The garden was sunken to a level below the roadside and the conventional front entrance to the house became secondary to a new glazed wind lobby on the side of the house.
Whilst basements are generally expected to be dark, with large format glazing in the walls and roof it provided a generous light filled space.
The bright double height space was designed to be used as an open plan dining area and kitchen where the family could congregate.
