Trombé were given a unique opportunity to design a replacement glass structure on an Architect’s home. The design was to replicate but upgrade a single glazed box that was ahead of it’s time. The client loved the space but due to the original glass being single glazed it suffered from heat loss in the winter and overheating in the summer. The upgraded structure followed the same proportions despite the upgrade units being more than double the thickness. The process of replacement was a delicate operation to remove the existing panels and to install the new large shaped panels with only minor making good required to the existing finishes.
