Sevenoaks Stepped House
Trombe completed a full design service from the initial design through each of the RIBA stages including planning, building control, technical design and through to the installation.
A challenge in terms of design and installation was that the house sits on a steep sloping site and as such has a stepped design. The extension was to replace a raised decking area to create a sheltered sitting area. The existing external doors leading directly to the swimming pool was replaced with a frameless glass balustrade.
The design of the extension incorporated glazing to all three external sides with a key feature being the corner-to -corner sliding glass doors. The roof consists of frameless glass panels supported on laminated glass beams.
