Sundridge Cottage Extension
Our clients were looking for a solution to extend their listed cottage in a pretty village in the Green Belt near Tonbridge. Their previous architects’ plans had not been well received by the planning department and they wondered if we could devise a solution that would resolve both their needs and the planning constraints.
We liaised with the Conservation Officer to develop a proposal for a simple, lightweight structure combining frameless glass with aluminium sliding doors, a lightweight steel frame with aluminium cladding.
The simple, carefully detailed, contemporary design with an asymmetric pitched roof echoes the forms of the existing house, harmonising with the high pitch roof.
