Wessex Barn Conversion

Trombé worked in association with the client’s architect to design and installed frameless glazing in this project, which is a conversion of a listed stable block attached to a modest cottage.

The principal feature is the lofty internal space and the fully glazed end elevation, which incorporates just three ‘frameless’ glazing panels supported by laminated glass fins. The overall height of the glazing is 5.8m and the width is 6 meters. This now forms the principal living space of the house.

Trombé also provided frameless glazing along the ridge of the extension. The gable end was completed with a patinated copper fascia by the main contractor, and we provided an extensive design and co-ordination service to ensure seamless integration into the contract.
